Ever realized how you could have a really clear picture about something that you don't really know 100%? It's like those times when you say, "Oh, i don't drink. Not a fan of it", when you actually had NEVER really tried the 'authentic' drinking activity, and all you ever did was just looking at a bunch of trashy people with a bottle of Bintang beer on their left hand who tried to act bitchy cool. You suddenly had a certain impression on people who drink and on the drinking activity itself, and when the word "drinking" pops up, these appear in your mind: LMFAO-ish hipsters, loud underaged teens, dark clubs, people with no future, and Ke$ha.
Well, i have. In fact, i've experienced this a lot--i'm pretty sure it's a 'thing'. Earlier this year, i always said, "I don't drink. Call me uncool, but i don't like the taste of beer." Then in Japan, i experienced izakaya and drank Cassis, Moscow Mule, plum wine sake, or whatever (i couldn't remember) in about 7 glasses or something--and loved it. I am now a fan of Asahi Superdry and i prefer beer to accompany my pizza. I was never a fan of clubbing, too. I always told my friend that i preferred something more 'laid-back' like bars or pubs. But in August, i danced like crazy in a cheap club in Bali (i know. LATE). I've always loved dancing, but never knew that clubs are the right place to do that. I usually dance in my room. I'll stop here before you start imagining some weird shits.
So this is one of those moments. I've never encountered a film director before (well, other than my friends who chose film-making as their major of course, but you get my point), but i always imagine these things in my mind when i think of a film director: sort of middle-aged man, un-combed hair, a hat (cap, trucker, snapback, baseball, whatever), peculiar glasses, jacket (with a hoodie), and laid-back look (because he's too busy to give a fuck about a thing called "fashion"). When i think of his character, i think of someone who's a bit arrogant, likes to shout to people, but actually pretty funny when he's not on duty (now the thing is... he's always on duty).
I don't know how i got this image in my mind (about film director) but i think i once saw a recording of Stephen Spielberg and the director of Lord of the Ring (what's his name) wearing this kind of clothing and i saw a monkey (yes, a monkey) acting as a music video director shouting to Fall Out Boy. That's how film director became... this. Well, in my own mind, that is.
So anyway, cheers to new post (finally)! I've been trying to get my head back on things after all the complicated stuffs (work and personal, mind you) happened in summer (NO i am not going to spill it here), and this is the best i can do for now. So be it.
Would love to read all the comments! Until the next! Be safe, folks.

sutradara LOTR? peter jackson kah? :) ngomong2 soal minum, aku ingat pertama kali coba bir waktu umur 12, dan sejak itu aku jadi fan heineken, secretly... sebelumnya aku selalu pikir kalau remaja yg minum (bir) itu cuma untuk diterima sama lingkungannya, sok asik dan keren. tapi kenyantaannya (at least aku) minum bir ternyata bisa cuma karena alasan sederhana: suka :)
ReplyDeletemeski "whatever" style kamu enak dilihat, suka banget perpaduan hijau dan hitamnya dan terutama kaca matanya! ;)
